The Role
Are you a seasoned Engineer in the field of Asset Risk & Compliance Management?
Do you foster a culture of service excellence?
Reporting to the Manager Technical Services, the Engineer Asset Risk & Compliance role will assist to provide leadership support, technical advice and engineering expertise with a focus on asset compliance and risk management.
You will ensure compliance with relevant infrastructure related regulations and standards across TasPorts assets, advising and assisting internal stakeholders to meet obligations.
This is a centralised role, with responsibility for Asset Compliance activities across TasPorts operations in the state.
The incumbent will be TasPorts subject matter expert in the facilitation and training of asset Management of Change and Root Cause Analysis investigations.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in either the TasPorts Launceston or Hobart offices.

You will have experience in leadership and management, and risk engineering.
You will be able to clearly and succinctly convey ideas or information, organise, schedule and prioritise your own area of responsibility, frequently make timely and accurate decisions, and display well-developed internal and external stakeholder liaison skills.
Lead and participate in major project teams dealing with complex technical or engineering challenges or opportunities.
Provide technical advice and planning support to the business during high-risk activities and recovery from calamity events relating to port infrastructure.
Mentor and develop the engineering risk management capability within the team, regular formal and informal feedback, direction and coaching.
Developing and implementing strategies and project studies for optimising the management of asset risks and compliance requirements across the organisation.
Leading site investigations to collect data for centralising into the Asset Management Information System, Geographical Information System, and CAD drawing records.
Lead compliance gap analysis across TasPorts infrastructure and maintenance activities against relevant standards and codes.
Lead risk engineering processes such as HAZOP, Management of Change, and Root Cause Analysis and help drive an increase in knowledge and maturity in this space in the organisation.
Champion Safety in Design and contribute to development of internal processes and guidelines for use in TasPorts for successful whole of life asset management.
Proven technical skills and experience in the engineering design process, including Safety in Design reviews and risk assessment workshops.
Proven skills, experience & competence in using relevant technical software packages including computer based design systems, Asset Management Information Systems and Geographic Information Systems.
Proven procurement, contract management and administrative skills and experience.
Well-developed ability to write and present high quality technical reports and formal correspondence.
Proven ability to lead engineering risk assessment studies such as HAZOP/CHAZOP, CHAIR, and Management of Change processes.
Experience in identifying, managing, and communicating risks in a complex and changing environment.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in engineering or suitable alternative Ability to acquire and hold Maritime Identification Security Card (MSIC) Post Graduate qualifications in Engineering, Management or equivalent Formal training in HAZOP and/or CHAIR Study facilitation Formal training in Safety in Design Why work for us?
