The position contributes to the delivery of the expansion of the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) Scheme.
This is a senior officer role within the risk-based licensing branch, requiring experience in developing policy, guidelines, and agreements to implement legislation and/or regulatory changes.
The Senior Policy Officer will contribute to the design and development of initiatives to reform service delivery by working collegially with key stakeholders to deliver change and embed new practices.

Period of Appointment 12 months.

Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties Work collaboratively as part of a team to develop RWVP legislative guidelines and policy to support Scheme expansions in Tasmania and implement nationally consistent aged care worker screening.
Work closely with Strategic Legislation and Policy unit and contribute to the development and implementation of RWVP legislative expansions and policy proposals.
Undertake research and consult with experts to provide high-level advice and policy analysis to senior managers and colleagues about the design of expanded services and embedding new practices.
Prepare a range of high-level written documentation including ministerial correspondence, reports, briefing notes, and communications material.
Contribute to the development and implementation of intergovernmental and partnership agreements and initiatives.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction with the responsiveness, professionalism, and effectiveness of the Department of Justice on delivering safeguarding reform and policy development.
Work with stakeholders to implement and reinforce sustainable business changes.
The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications, and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
Current Driver's License.
Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study from a recognised tertiary institution.
