Location: The Department of Health is seeking interest for multiple Project Officers to join the Hospitals and Primary Care team. These fixed-term full-time positions are based in Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie and support the Directorate's strategic policy agenda.
The Role: Under the broad direction of the Chief Executive, the Project Officer will:
Lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and engagement with key stakeholders. Coordinate activities to ensure adherence to policies, legislation, and business functions while managing risks and supporting meetings and negotiations. Provide strategic advice on complex issues, develop practical solutions, and prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, and project documentation for senior management and stakeholders. You will need: Demonstrated experience and expertise in project management and delivery, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple concurrent projects. High-level strategic, conceptual, analytical, and creative skills, including effective communication with diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and resolve complex issues. Ability to produce high-quality documentation in various formats for a range of target audiences, including presentation skills. Proven capacity to model agile, flexible, and innovative work practices to manage stakeholder expectations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, fostering a positive workplace culture. Details of appointment: Multiple fixed-term full-time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP until 30 June 2026.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
