The Department of Health is seeking applications for a Podiatrist to join the team on the North West Coast.
Podiatrist – Level 1-2 – Permanent Full Time The Team: Based in the Devonport region, our team of 8 podiatrists provides services to the North-West coast of Tasmania, one of the most naturally beautiful parts of the world. Many of our group have achieved Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines while working with us, and we can support you to do the same. We are continuously growing, developing new services, and redesigning old ones. It's an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practice including the use of F-Scan plantar pressure mapping.
The Role: Your role will involve providing outpatient and community outreach services with a focus on high-risk foot conditions and acute foot problems. You will be closely linked to the multidisciplinary team. We'll ensure you are fully inducted and welcomed into our team and culture. Your fellow Allied Health colleagues, as well as Nursing, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Vascular, and Hyperbaric specialists, will rely on you thriving in your work and will be invested in making this a reality.
If you are a final year podiatry student who graduated in 2024, you will also have the opportunity to submit an Expression of Interest for one of our Allied Health Scholarships. The Allied Health Scholarship Program provides up to $25,000 to support the costs of studying. Scholarship recipients will receive $15,000 in Year 1 of the Program (2024-2025) and a further $10,000 in Year 4 of the Program, following completion of three years' service with the Tasmanian Health Service (from 2026-2027). A limited number of scholarships are available and will be awarded on merit. Scholarship recipients must accept an offer of employment with the Tasmanian Health Service and sign a Scholarship Agreement. An offer of employment does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded.
Details of Appointment: Permanent, full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 January 2025. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Minimum Requirements: Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Podiatry Board of Australia. Registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia. Current Working with Children Registration or Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
