Lead and coordinate an integrated approach to urban renewal and broader housing policy across the agency, government and our key stakeholders and to provide authoritative advice on a diverse range of policies, programs and projects. The occupant's responsibilities will include progressing deliverables associated with the Tasmanian Housing Strategy and Action Plan, the Hobart City Deal, administration and delivery of actions under the Greater Hobart Act and supporting Tasmania's involvement in various national housing committees and forums. They will also work closely with the other assistant directors and staff in the Division to deliver wider housing, population and planning priorities as part of our collaborative framework.

Duties Effect strong policy outcomes through the provision of considered and expert policy and implementation advice to senior management on matters of strategic priority, with a particular focus on Housing and Urban Renewal issues. Lead effective intra and inter-agency collaboration and stakeholder management and engagement in the development and implementation of government policy priorities. Lead the preparation of high-quality advice, briefings, correspondence and submissions that reflect whole of agency, whole of government perspectives. Plan, design and manage the delivery of policy-driven projects using appropriate management tools and techniques to ensure milestones are achieved and outcomes delivered on time and budget. This may include the monitoring of services provided by external consultants where appropriate. Establish and build productive working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the Agency's broad interests are appropriately represented in external and inter-governmental negotiations, forums and work groups. Direct and oversee complex strategy and policy development, supported by relevant research, investigation and analysis. Lead, inspire and coach staff (e.g. direct reports and/or project team members) to ensure timely delivery of outcomes to a high standard and consistent with organisational values. Stay abreast of current issues, trends and opportunities.
