The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.About the roleYou will provide high-level executive and advocacy support to the RACS Tasmanian Chair and Committee, ensuring actions and committees are appropriately supported. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and provide secretariat support to the Tasmanian State Committee. You will also assist with College events and activities and attend to various other state office administrative matters. This job is 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) with a hybrid working model.Skills and ExperienceExperience working with government / member-based organisation / or not for profitExperience in supporting committees, including drafting of agenda and minute takingHigh level of verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidentlyExperience of advocacy within a membership organisation, advocating for key health and surgery concerns and opportunitiesDemonstrated skills in writing and editing to a high levelAt our organisation, we are proud to have a positive impact on improving health outcomes in the community.
