About the Department of Communities The Department of Communities (Communities) brings together the services and functions of:
Disability services Child protection and family support Housing Community initiatives Regional services reform Priority Projects and Project Management Office The Priority Projects and Program Management Office, in the Housing and Assets Division, drives the delivery of the State Governments' high-profile investments in social housing and infrastructure, aligned to Ministerial priorities to address community need.
The Directorate is responsible for:
Delivery of Priority Projects: Bespoke, single site, high value projects that have both capital works and commissioning elements and require collaboration within Communities, with other agencies and service providers. Delivery of Priority Programs: Complex, high volume capital programs that also deliver socio-economic benefits to communities. Oversight of Communities' Asset Investment Program (AIP): Assurance functions including reporting, governance and project controls, cost, quality and risk. Current projects and programs being delivered include:
Common Ground Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation Family and Domestic Violence One Stop Hubs East Metro Women's Refuge Community Housing Grants North West Aboriginal Housing Fund Kimberley Flood Housing Recovery Who are we looking for? The ideal candidates will have:

Information about the Talent Register Communities' priority and focus remains on appointing merit-based selected staff. This Talent Register is an online portal that allows you to register your interest for short term contract opportunities (up to twelve (12) months) at the Department of Communities in a range of key positions across the Priority Projects and Project Management Office directorate.
Opportunities are temporary and may be full time or part time. For some roles, we can make direct appointments which will mean you won't need to go through a full competitive recruitment process. The register is actively monitored, and applicants may be contacted if an opportunity arises suiting their skills and experience.
