We are seeking an experienced MTEC Electrical Engineer to join a leading ASX listed manufacturer for a major project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure, systems, training, and resources to support a seamless transition to safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations. This is an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension, based in Port Kembla, NSW, working 5 days onsite.
Key Responsibilities: Safety Leadership: Support and uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring all project activities comply with HSE standards and the organization's safety protocols. Engineering and Design Contribution: Collaborate with the team to ensure the highest quality practices in design, risk management, and engineering controls, incorporating operability and maintainability into all project stages. Operations Readiness: Prepare comprehensive operational documentation, establish and maintain operational standards, and integrate new and existing infrastructure for seamless operations. Commissioning Support: Assist with pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing, ensuring all equipment meets operational standards and is ready for handover. Project Integration: Facilitate relationships across project teams and stakeholders, manage operational readiness tasks, and ensure successful risk management throughout project execution. Essential Skills and Experience: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of maintenance, engineering, and asset management processes within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. Project Experience: Proven track record in delivering operational readiness for brownfield projects, including commissioning and safety protocols. SAP Knowledge: Experience with SAP for operations and maintenance planning, with a focus on implementing frameworks in complex industrial settings. Leadership and Communication: Excellent relationship-building skills, capable of working effectively across functions and communicating with stakeholders at all levels. Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate both big-picture planning and detailed project requirements. Desirable Qualifications: Background in heavy industrial manufacturing, steelmaking, or associated processes. Proficiency in MS Project and Excel, with knowledge of project scheduling and risk management tools. Familiarity with safety systems and processes.
