As part of this growth, there is an immediate requirement for an Enterprise Architect to join the Information Technology & Digital Services team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuing development of Western's multi-level enterprise architecture, improving current systems decision making, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating business and organizational processes, information, applications, and programs of work.
As well as direct supervision for a small architecture team, the Enterprise Architect is also responsible for cataloguing, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing the University's overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the organization's business and technology activities.
Key Duties Translate the University IT and Digital strategies and the Western Architecture into a blueprint for the evolution of Western's systems and digital services. Guide and mentor Architecture specialists to meet business needs and maximize benefits while aligning to Western's Enterprise Architecture. Create and maintain architectural standards, principles, and frameworks to ensure solutions are designed to align with Western's Enterprise Architecture. Direct the creation and review of an enterprise capability strategy to support the strategic requirements of the business. Lead the development of architectures for complex solutions ensuring consistency with agreed requirements. Coordinate and manage the target architecture across multiple projects or initiatives. Direct and lead architectural feasibility assessments for initiatives that will have a significant impact on the organization. Implement the governance framework to enable governance activity to be conducted. Minimum Requirements: In order to be shortlisted for the role, we are seeking Enterprise Architects who possess the following skills and capabilities:
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or extensive equivalent experience at the same or similar level within a large, complex, and rapidly changing organization. Proven experience leading an enterprise architecture practice in a complex organization. Broad understanding of contemporary enterprise architecture practices, including architecture development, communication, and application. Demonstrated vast working knowledge of contemporary enterprise systems management practices, including lifecycle management and service planning. Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to gain the respect of peers as a person and leader, successful experience influencing, and the ability to explain concepts to individuals. Please note this role is offered on a 5-year, fixed-term contract with a salary package of $197,000 to $211,800 inclusive of super.
