The Talent Acquisition Advisor role implements and executes contemporary, customer-focused talent acquisition solutions and services. This position collaborates across the Society to understand current and future workforce needs to enable the acquisition of passionate and talented people committed to the purpose of the Society.

Responsible for talent acquisition for employees and volunteers by providing high-quality services and support to relevant stakeholders, working toward best practice outcomes, throughout the recruitment, selection and onboarding lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities: Identify, design and develop talent acquisition services including candidate attraction, selection assessment and onboarding in line with best practice methodologies and legislative guidelines. Coordinate and undertake end-to-end talent acquisition lifecycle activities in accordance with best practice policy and procedures. Provision of strategic advice on sourcing, assessment and selection of talent to hiring managers and developing the fit-for-purpose talent acquisition process in alignment with unique business need, informed by emerging market trends and insights. Contributes to the creation of future talent recruitment campaigns and designs campaign messaging. Considers analysis of market intelligence on candidate behaviour to build candidate pools and pipelines. Creation of recruitment profiles for key existing and new roles by engaging with hiring managers and HR Operations to clarify the scope of the role and create a candidate persona to attract high-quality candidates. Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of talent acquisition policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to the HR Operations Manager. Build partnerships and work collaboratively with Hiring Managers to provide support and guidance, to ensure talent acquisition processes support business requirements, and support workforce planning objectives related to the attraction and retention of high calibre talent. Investigate and leverage multiple sourcing methodologies such as research and talent mapping, database mining, LinkedIn and Seek talent search, networking, University/TAFE/RTO partnerships, and Government initiatives and programs to develop sourcing pipelines. Ensure best-in-class candidate care by providing a seamless, respectful, and engaging recruitment experience, maintaining clear communication, and supporting candidates throughout the entire recruitment process. Conduct analysis of internal and external talent acquisition data to identify key trends and contribute to the creation of People & Culture insights that enable the diagnosis of workforce issues, enhancement of candidate and employee engagement and/or improvement of business performance. Identify areas for improvement within Recruitment and Selection processes and systems and propose solutions to create efficiencies. Undertake all administrative activities such as posting and closing job advertisements on both internal and external career boards, conducting phone screenings, organising pre-employment checks, and supporting with shortlisting as required. Ensure candidate compliance with Recruitment and Screening Policies and Enterprise Agreement requirements, including prompt follow up with candidates and clear communication with managers. Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure key milestones are met and that the recruitment lifecycle progresses in a timely and appropriate manner. Manage onboarding processes, including system support, ensuring payroll requirements are completed prior to commencement and communication with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth commencement. Ensure recruitment records and employee electronic files are maintained with accurate recording of key employment documentation and paperwork in accordance with approved internal processes. Operate as part of the broader People and Culture team to achieve department and organisational strategic goals. Support a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the operations, with demonstrated year on year improvements in all areas. Undertake other duties, which are assigned from time to time by your Manager. Comply with all WHS duties and responsibilities as a worker in accordance with the document WHS Directive: WHS Roles and Responsibilities and the WHS Act 2011. In all duties, comply with the behavioural expectations set out in the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland Code of Conduct, and our policies and procedures. Qualifications and Experience Expertise in full life cycle recruiting, from sourcing (passive and active) to negotiations, closing and on-boarding via corporate, internal, executive search and/or agency recruitment. Proven track record in optimisation of the talent acquisition function, through contributing ideas for process improvement and developing innovative ways to identify talent. Working knowledge of applicant tracking or contact management systems with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools and technologies. Stakeholder management experience with the ability to partner with hiring managers across diverse locations to drive efficiency in the talent acquisition process. Excellent time-management with the ability to prioritise in a fast-changing environment with multiple business priorities. Effective influencing skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience analysing HR data and trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.
