The Role We are currently seeking to appoint junior level Tailings Engineers to join our Melbourne team. Some of the key responsibilities include:
Interpreting results from laboratory testing and preparing summary reports.Undertaking screening level and detailed design analyses to support the design of tailings storage facilities and other earth structures, with support and guidance from our senior specialists.Undertaking design assessments, including tailings beach modelling, water balance and stability and seepage analyses.Working with other professionals in project teams and other offices.Conduct general field and office assignments under supervision.Delivering technical reports on time.Please note this role is based in our Melbourne Office therefore relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate.
About You Our ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Engineering with either Geotechnical or Civil specialisations, have worked within the mining, civil or geotechnical industries, and will possess:
Previous experience working on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment.Basic to intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in MS Office and slope stability programs (e.g., GeoStudio and/or RocScience) required. Familiarity with GoldSim, MUK3D, gINT, FLAC or PLAXIS and other latest geotechnical design software strongly preferred.
