About the role TAFE SA is seeking a passionate and culturally adept First Nations Liaison Officer to join the Centre of Excellence in Early Childhood Education and Care within the Academic Development Division. This pivotal role facilitates engagement with First Nations communities to enhance Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) training and education throughout Australia.
Working closely with the Manager, Engagement and Communications, you will develop and maintain a national stakeholder engagement plan and contribute to innovative training solutions that support First Nations communities.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a national stakeholder engagement plan with Aboriginal community members. Coordinate in-person and virtual consultation events, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of feedback. Provide high-quality advice on ECEC issues affecting First Nations Australians and communities. Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence team to develop innovative training solutions. Maintain current knowledge of sector developments to inform activities and improve engagement outcomes. Ensure timely delivery of core responsibilities to meet contract requirements. Key Selection Criteria: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships. Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Demonstrated experience in coordinating or facilitating community consultations. Experience in stakeholder engagement roles requiring cultural expertise. Understanding and application of workplace policies related to WHS, equity, diversity, and respectful workplace culture. Highly desirable - Knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) and higher education sectors. Please refer to theRole Description for more information about the position.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
Out of hours work will be required. Intra/interstate travel may be required. Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program Eligibility to work in Australia. Please refer to the Role Description for all Special Conditions.
