T3 - Contract Administrator - Fit Out / Refurbishment Exp Needed
For almost half a century, this business has dominated the South Australian construction industry by being a builder clients can trust repeatedly. The founders of this company have passed down these values, principles, and strategies to the current leaders and managers of this award-winning business for decades, ensuring that the pioneering spirit is now in the hands of the business's future leaders.
Having almost 100 employees across our great state isn't easy unless you have a culture that puts its people first above all else. This is the secret to their success and making them a household name in SA.
Culture
This brings me again to what they value most: their people.
This business has spent millions of dollars fitting out one of the best headquarters in the industry. Having a place where their staff can look forward to coming to work every day is the difference between a harmonious culture and a worker bee mindset.
Whether it's a flexible working environment, working from home understanding, a well-resourced team and mentor, or the open-door career development and learning policy, this business grows every facet of a construction professional's career pathway to ensure you become the best you can be.
Leadership
This company has had the same general manager, construction manager, and commercial manager leading the organisation chart from the front for almost a decade, which shows that it's a place worth staying in and a company worth working for.
This opportunity would suit a contract administrator who feels it's time to join a company that will give them full autonomy over the project they are working on while not spreading thinly on another one.
This means it would be for someone who thinks they've got enough experience in their career to be confident in administering a project of around $10M—$20M without having to be micromanaged.
This could mean you've got 2-3 years of experience as a junior Contract Administrator on projects of around $5M—$15M, or you've got 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Contract Administrator on projects worth around $20M—$30M.
Responsibilities
Firstly, you'd be involved in the end-to-end delivery of the entire project.
Naturally, variations must be raised and submitted daily to the project's scope and budgetary considerations.
Lodging RFI's (requests for information) and EOTs (extension of time) claims would be part of your weekly duties.
Prepare and process the progress claims for the suppliers/vendors and subcontractors throughout the project's life cycle.
The ideal candidate would be very comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Expectations include strong negotiation skills, efficient time management, and ability to juggle various deadlines.
Person
Some of the critical core competencies that would be advantageous include:
A deep drive to face challenges and find fulfillment in your work.
Courage, resolve, and strength of character under hardship.
Being conscientious, punctual, and meeting expectations.
Being a team player who welcomes collaboration and holds themselves accountable.
Intellectual curiosity that pushes you to grow.
If you resonate with these competencies and traits, we are off to a great start.
Application Process
Apply and I'll call you regardless to discuss this opportunity and others that suit your skillset.
I am excited to hear from you either way. Have a great day.
