Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role As Systems Integration Manager you will act as a key advisor and provide critical leadership and strategic direction on the integration and testing and commissioning of complex rail systems for the Cross River Rail (CRR) Project. The position plays a central role in ensuring that systems such as TVS, ETCS, TMS, ATO, PSD, CCTV, PIS, BMS and Station Systems are successfully integrated as part of the Routeway and Route to Acceptance strategy. Working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Queensland Rail (QR) and our delivery partners, you will lead discussions on system interface requirements, provide guidance and ensure alignment across various integration activities.
Your role will be to ensure a unified approach to systems integration processes and you will lead problem-solving integration groups, working collaboratively across multiple disciplines to address complex integration challenges and managing interface issues. The role also provides technical support on Testing and Commissioning (T&C) matters, ensuring that all integration and testing obligations are met through all phases of the project, up to trial running and operations.
This position requires a deep understanding of rail systems, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead and influence across complex technical environments, ensuring that the Cross River Rail Project meets its critical integration and operational readiness objectives. This opportunity is offered as a contract until December 2026 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic advice to management on key risks and issues for the critical integration of rail systems.Lead the CRRDA Systems Engineering, integration, and contractual responsibilities for the Super Systems Integration Lab.Provide strategic advice to Configuration State leads on the integration activities for each configuration state.Liaise, collaborate and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the integration/T&C obligations are performed to requirements.Provide support on integration / T&C matters, including strategic direction, interpretation of requirements and standards, key risks, test hierarchy/test coverage, system integration functions, T&C gaps, and test result impacts.Provide guidance on implementing T&C activities, including factory, site, static and dynamic testing up to and including trial running, trial operations and defects liability.Support the development of integrated Testing and Commissioning program.Ensure that suitable and sufficient evidence of Testing and Commissioning results are compiled and processed to support the Handover strategy.Administer problem solving integration groups including deep dive working groups, and sprints.Partner with project stakeholders to manage the identification, development, documentation, and reporting of the technical and program interface deliverables.Measure and report on the interface and collaboration performance, updating management plans, Interface Definition Sheets (IDSs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). About You: Demonstrated experience in senior systems integration roles responsible for the coordination of multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders. Previous Client-side experience will be viewed favourably.Proven expertise in rail infrastructure and systems, with experience leading Systems Engineering and Assurance processes in compliance with ISO/IEC 15288 and CENELEC railway standards.Advanced relationship building & stakeholder engagement abilities with proven abilities to provide professional guidance and influence stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a solutions-based approach to managing complex integration challenges.Knowledge of Queensland and Australian rail industry stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, operators, and contractors will be viewed favourably.Interstate relocation assistance available for successful candidate.
