About the role The Systems Engineer is responsible for IT infrastructure and cloud resource provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of servers and other end user computer systems, hardware, software, network & security appliances, and associated infrastructure both on premise and in the cloud.
The role is required to work closely with project managers and application owners to effectively deliver project outcomes as well as perform BAU tasks.
What you'll do Build, design & engineering of solutions for various project and operational needs in the cloud Install and configure new & rebuild existing systems to support technology projects Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements Maintain the security and integrity of servers, end user computers and the network so that security policies are applied, and recommendations are made Maintain computer operating systems to remain current Maintain patching of operating systems and applications Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures Contribute to and maintain system standards & documentation Escalated tickets from the Service Desk Implement and Maintain Azure single sign on for our Enterprise Apps Decommission old servers and Infrastructure to shut down the data centres Monitoring systems and alerts and investigation of problems admin of software and SaaS platforms and maintain software and software license Support team Projects including ISO remediation and ISO work About you BSc in Information Technology or relevant work experience 3+ years of experience as a systems administrator in a client or server environment, including deployment automation tools Certifications on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, including Solutions Architect, Developer or Google Cloud ITIL Foundation Technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as Network, Storage, Linux/Windows Experience with configuring software defined networking and security configurations, including security groups and ACLs Knowledge with System and Network monitoring systems Scripting and automation skills desirable Good technical documentation skills Attention to detail, documentation and accurate record keeping skills Aptitude for understanding business objectives and processes and translating them into business and functional design specifications that can be delivered by the IT What's next?
