About Us:
Yokogawa Australia is a leader in industrial automation and control solutions. Our Project Engineering team is dedicated to implementing innovative solutions in power systems, including renewable energy, to meet project requirements with excellence and integrity.
Role Overview:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, testing, and commissioning control and monitoring systems in power and renewable energy systems. This role involves working closely with the lead engineer to coordinate and execute project tasks efficiently and safely, ensuring all projects meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Design electrical power systems, including hybrid systems that integrate renewable and thermal generation.Develop power control platforms utilizing PLCs and SCADA systems.Assist the project manager with procurement, equipment shipment, and administrative tasks.Conduct hardware and configuration testing at factories and on-site.Participate in site installation and commissioning activities.Ensure project adherence to client specifications, design standards, and regulatory codes.Translate Functional Descriptions/Control Philosophies into system application designs.What We're Looking For: Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.Strong knowledge of power systems, electricity generation, and distribution.Basic understanding of networking and automation systems.Familiarity with renewable energy systems (Wind/PV/BESS) and thermal generation (coal, gas, diesel, biomass).Experience with power distribution engineering across LV/22KV/132KV systems.Proficiency with engineering software and basic CAD/drawing skills.Ability to manage tasks effectively and work across multiple projects.Minimum of 2 years in relevant roles; recent graduates with strong academic alignment in power systems are encouraged to apply.Prior site experience and exposure to system designs for transmission or generation companies (e.g., Powerlink, TransGrid, Origin, AGL) are desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage relationships effectively.A proactive team player with a focus on results and outcomes.Why Join Us?
