About the Role: In this position you will provide timely, expert technical support and systems administration to ensure the operational efficiency of the Council's Information Technology infrastructure.
Contribute to the development and implementation of measures to improve and enhance IT support services, analyse and resolve complex technical problems and provide expert advice.
Assist with the development of policy recommendations, strategies, and programs to support and achieve, Council's Corporate Plan and Departmental Business Plan goals and objectives.
This role requires expert technical support and system administration to ensure optimum operational efficiency across Hardware, Systems and Applications.
Day to day, some of the tasks you will be responsible for include:
Install, configure and maintain LAN and WAN infrastructure and Firewalls. Provide Level 3 support of all Windows and Exchange servers. Ensure all applications residing in those servers are available and performing to organisational standards. Investigate, design and develop improvements and enhancements to the IT infrastructure. Respond to system alerts and error messages produced by monitoring tools. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
A degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or extensive experience working within a related field. Significant knowledge of information security on Windows and Firewalls and the mechanism for configuring systems in line with policies. Demonstrated ability to install, configure and support Microsoft server products on VMWare or HyperV. Experience in developingand maintaining technicalsystem documentation and network diagrams. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, define and resolvetechnical and operational problems. A passion for continuously driving innovative improvements, in a fast-changing and busy operating environment. Well-developedinterpersonal skills, acustomer centric mindset and the ability to build trusting relationships within a team environment and across the business. In addition, the following experience would be highly regarded: Experience working within local or state government departments.
