We have an exciting opportunity within our team for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Summary of Job:
The Systems Engineer is responsible for integrating a multi-disciplinary team that develops and delivers whole system solutions with a focus on the relationship between product components in the system and how they are interconnected.
Activities include: control system design and implementation; system architecture definition; requirements definition, validation, and verification; modeling and analysis of systems behaviors; system integration, testing, and system certification; and troubleshooting product system problems and root cause analysis.
Key Accountabilities:
Assist the Engineering Manager and Business Development team in developing proposals.
Develop and test system models and associated simulation tools.
Design and implement control algorithms for electromechanical systems.
Derive systems requirements, oversee systems integration (including prototyping), and develop and execute the test plan.
Ensure that design and development practices meet established engineering standards.
Conduct and lead research and development activities within a multidisciplinary team.
Research new technologies and methods relevant to Moog Australia's product development.
Produce technical documentation and reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Degree of Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Aerospace / Systems Engineering
Preferred: Master of Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Aerospace / Systems Engineering
Work Experience:
4+ years experience working as a design engineer, project engineer, or systems engineer in a related industry.
Skills:
Required
Experience in systems modelling (MATLAB, Simulink).
Knowledge of motion control system design and implementation.
Strong knowledge of systems engineering practices.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent skills with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Project, Visio, and Word.
Strong technical and report writing skills.
Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams.
Ability to develop detailed plans for technical project delivery.
Desired
Knowledge of AS9100 practices.
Experience in Defence or Defence-related industries.
Experience in DOORS requirements management.
