The Opportunity As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness and capabilities of combat systems, ensuring they operate with precision and reliability in defence operations.
Our Systems Engineers provide high-level engineering technical expertise across combat system integration design for naval vessels, undertaking technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification, platform integration (including consideration of whole-of-ship and compartment integration, cabling, HVAC, electrical, weight, etc.) of combat systems to the ship platform systems, technical reporting and documentation, design coordination and review, alongside knowledge sharing and mentoring support to peers and juniors.
What you need to succeed: Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and retain an NV1/ NV2 clearanceBetween 3 – 6 years post-graduate experience, with tertiary qualifications in either Electronics, Electrical or Mechatronics EngineeringStrong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work across multi-partnered programsAbility to work autonomously, with a hunger to learnExperience across the full systems engineering lifecycle (and using DOORS).Experience with system/ platform integration, requirements reviews, design reviews, and/or test and acceptance events with customers or similarExperience in maritime or defence domains is highly desirablePositions are based in Adelaide; candidates with out-of-state applications will need to be willing to relocate, as FIFO options are not available for these roles.Veterans: Saab's Veteran and ADF Partner Program prioritises a range of veteran support initiatives, including tailored support and mentorship, to ensure that veterans can smoothly transition into civilian roles while also developing new skills and fulfilling career pathways.
