About the team Our Systems Assurance team takes a holistic approach, engaging across all projects within the organisation to ensure activities throughout the project lifecycle comply with V/Line's Safety Management System.

About the role Working within the Projects function, your role will involve: Supporting the implementation of the Systems Assurance framework to achieve successful project outcomes.
Engaging with stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS), as required under Rail Safety National Law (RSNL), throughout the project lifecycle.
Applying Systems Assurance methodology based on Best Practice and integrating assurance frameworks for allocated projects.
Key outcomes of the role include: Developing project-specific Systems Assurance Management plans and statements.
Conducting Assurance Reviews throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with systems and plans.
Presenting project assurance status at the Change Control Board .
Coordinating and engaging stakeholders to ensure V/Line is well represented at various forums.
Providing system safety and systems assurance expertise to projects based on standards and requirements, including RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety), Railway Control and Protection systems, safety-related electronic systems for signalling, and engineering safety requirements specified in the Safety Management System .
Supporting the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
About you Our ideal candidate will possess the following: A degree qualification in Engineering , Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Understanding and knowledge of Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance, or Systems Safety.
Experience in rail infrastructure or rolling stock will be highly regarded.
A couple of years (or more) of professional experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, Functional Safety, or RAMS.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
Highly regarded: Registered Professional Engineer of Victoria.
Training in International Engineering Safety Management (iESM) , or a keen interest in iESM and the willingness to obtain.
Certifications in Functional Safety (Exida, TUV, or similar).
