As part of the Operations Team, our Systems Administrator – Linux is responsible for aiding in the design, implementation, security and integration of new systems for client projects and maintaining and improving existing client systems. In this role you will:
Develop solutions in conjunction with the Principal Architect for next and existing systems. Provide support for the maintenance of assigned systems, including software updates, patches, and troubleshooting. Perform routine maintenance tasks on assigned Linux systems, including optimisation, backups, and system monitoring. Collaborate with team members to identify and address security vulnerabilities and implement best practices for system security. Document system configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes. Skills & Capability
Strong technical proficiency in Linux system administration, security principles, and analysis techniques. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, managing multiple tasks and priorities. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies and use them to identify and mitigate security risks. Knowledge and Experience
Linux system administration and security Virtualisation technologies such as KVM, Docker, VMware Hypervisor Automation tools such as Ansible SEIM/Log Analysis tools such as Splunk Scripting with Bash and/or Python Troubleshooting using tcpdump/Wireshark for diagnosing network/application issues Windows systems and VoIP (desirable) Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position you must:
Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field (desirable) Be an Australian citizen with an AGSVA NV2 clearance or higher (or eligible and willing to undergo the process). How to Apply
