The Position We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team of dedicated IT professionals. This role is key in providing timely and effective technical and troubleshooting support for servers, storage, backups, information security and systems throughout the organisation and its various sites. You will be heavily involved in hardware and software implementation projects, maintenance of current infrastructure, systems and end-user support. Day to day duties include (but are not limited to): Manage Windows/Unix Servers both Physical and Virtual (VMware) Perform regular server patch management to ensure that the security of our environment is robust, and risk minimised Management of Active Directory, ensuring it meets the internal policies and industry best practices. Manage the internal Email/Web Traffic Data Monitoring systems to ensure the business is always protected. Plan and implement the continuing roll out of Office 365, ensuring we follow best practices. Engineer and deliver a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) which meets organisational requirements for our servers, storage and backups Act as a technical escalation point for issues relating to SOE and end-user computer services Manage Backup and Storage Infrastructure to ensuring backup/storage infrastructure is maintained as per internal policies Provide advice about the feasibility and suitability of proposed solutions to optimise business performance Liaise with external vendors and internal application support staff to support internal applications The Person Strong emphasis will be placed on the applicant's ability to demonstrate our organisational values of Courage, Diligence, Compassion, Wisdom and Friendliness, as well as their ability to commit to and apply these values in the workplace. Key Selection Criteria for this position includes : Experience in managing an ICT Technical Environment including Windows Virtual Machine, Windows and SQL Server and VMWare. Strong understanding of network infrastructure and IP network architecture. Experience with Aruba and HP devices is highly desirable. Experience with SCCM, MS Intune and Citrix Technologies (desirable) Proven experience in the creation of architectural plans the design and implementation of Information Systems High level oral and written communication skills to develop documentation for systems enhancements and training manuals, along with the ability to interact effectively with people Strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, plan and organise workloads and investigate and solve problems with minimal supervision and good attention to detail Ability to work as an effective team member and provide high quality customer service to internal staff and external service providers.
