General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a candidate to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.
Job Responsibilities & Duties: Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues. Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software. Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users. May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies. Candidates should have 1 year + related experience. The following knowledge/skill set is not required but is a plus: Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. PowerShell. Virtualization Environments (VMware, Citrix). Profile management utilizing the VMware User Experience Management (UEM) toolset. Microsoft Exchange. Telephone/Video support. Networking. Familiarity with site specific customer and mission. Certification Requirement (required day 1): IAT II.
