Job Summary: The Systems Accountant is responsible for maintaining, optimising, and supporting financial systems, primarily focusing on SAP, Oracle EPM, Concur, Corporate Online, and Time sheeting systems in collaboration with the Senior Systems Accountant.
This role bridges finance, IT, and other business units, ensuring the systems align with financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning requirements.
The Systems Accountant supports continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoots issues, and provides training to finance users to enhance system utilisation and effectiveness.
What you'll do: In collaboration with the Senior Systems Accountant, maintain and oversee the day-to-day operations of our finance systems and related integrations, ensuring data integrity and system stability. Proactively troubleshoot system issues, coordinating with finance, IT, and external vendors to resolve them. Active involvement in projects and tasks related to business systems transformation, including developing and completing user acceptance testing and test scripts. Collaborate with finance and business teams to identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes. Maintenance of a knowledge base with up-to-date documentation on critical systems and activities, including system configuration, processes, and data flow. The ability to understand and explain complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide user training and support supplemented by creating user-friendly training resources for finance teams to maximise the effective use of finance systems. Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail. Ensure financial systems comply with company policies and regulatory standards. Skills & Experience: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). Relevant experience in a systems accountant or similar role. Proficiency in SAP front-end and back-end configurations/tables is required. Experience in user acceptance testing is required. Experience in system implementation and/or process optimisation projects is advantageous. Experience with data migration and reconciliation between systems is advantageous. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Advanced skills in financial data analysis and report generation. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data visualisation tools.
