About the position The City is seeking a Systems Accountant to support the Oracle Cloud Financial System through the configuration and delivery of systems, reports and metrics documentation, training and processes, ensuring the integrity and data stewardship of the City's financial systems.
This is a great opportunity for someone who possesses strong financial management skills and is willing to enhance and develop their capabilities around Oracle Cloud Systems financial support.
You will be working alongside the current Systems Accountant and be able to develop the Oracle Cloud financial support skills.
Key Accountabilities include: Working alongside the current Systems Accountant by acting as the system advocate and subject matter expert, being the point of contact for internal and external customers, addressing and responding to enquiries.
Point of contact for Oracle Cloud Financial system-specific audits and for financial management audits, being responsible for the provision of transaction lists, trial balance report, and other system-specific information.
Supporting super users in the analysis and resolution of system issues, user access and audit logs, maintaining the integrity of the financial system.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with users, technical staff, stakeholders, and vendors for the administration of the Oracle Cloud Financial system in ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA's), defect resolution, release management, system performance, access to the system, and support.
Providing training, expert advice, guidance, and coaching to users, technical staff, and stakeholders that build workforce capability and capacity in using the Oracle Cloud Financial System.
Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on Oracle Cloud Financial system performance and linkages with other corporate systems, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and processes.
Maintaining the Chart of Accounts consistent with the Accounting Standards, Accounting Framework, and the City's business requirements.
Leading the Oracle Cloud Financial System upgrades and enhancements.
Identifying, developing, documenting, and maintaining the currency of processes associated with the efficient and effective use of the Oracle Cloud Financial System.
Administering the Oracle Cloud Financial System, including configuration and maintenance activities, users, security, controls, roles, and hierarchy.
Further, this role is expected to support the City's Finance Business Partners during the remaining time.
The following general accounting responsibilities will also be carried out: Undertaking financial analyses, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information.
Providing advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders on financial & strategic accounting matters, in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and accounting practices.
Preparing reports in functional areas or activities for management and other stakeholders tailored to the needs of audiences.
Supporting the City's Finance Business Partners and the Coordinator Financial & Strategic Accounting in regular business support activities and any ad-hoc tasks including leave covers.
Providing information for audits and implementing recommendations, ensuring that service delivery is timely, effective, and efficient.
About you Under broad supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the position is accountable for the provision of quality outcomes in accordance with customer and organisational needs.
As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CVs and covering letter that they meet the following capabilities: University degree such as commerce or business with a major in Accounting.
Qualification with an Australian professional accounting body such as CPA or CA.
Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Information Systems is desirable.
Professional training/certification in the use of SQL data query tools such as SSRS, Power BI is desirable.
Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
Experience in utilising Financial Management Systems including Financial Modelling will be an added advantage.
Experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology is required.
Knowledge of Oracle Cloud is desirable.
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, ensuring that an organised and measurable approach to process and business improvement is required.
