Systems Accountant
Great Southern Bank is seeking a new Systems Accountant to join the team for a 7-month max term contract. As our new Systems Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising the Bank's key financial accounting systems used within the Finance Team to deliver sustainable outcomes for the internal and external customers that are in line with our risk frameworks and are centred on being trust-driven and customer obsessed. This position is located at our Brisbane CBD office with the flexibility to work from home two days per week,
Your Responsibilities:
• Daily management of the TechnologyOne, Blackline and other critical finance applications including user administration, trouble shooting and system performance monitoring.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of financial accounting software systems, by facilitating system upgrades and enhancements.
• Identify risks related to accounting systems, develop and implement controls to mitigate these risks, and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Review, maintain and establish all policies and procedures related to financial systems.
• Collaborate with finance teams to develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models within accounting systems, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
• Manage relationships with accounting software vendors, including contract negotiation, service level agreements, and resolution of any issues or disputes.
About you:
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Business or Commerce (required)
• Minimum 3 years' Financial systems experience, including in a financial services organisation
• Experience with TechnologyOne products
• Proven experience in leading and delivering financial systems transformation programs in complex environments across finance
• Change management experience in the financial services industry
• Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues
• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels to clearly communicate good risk management practices
• Strong experience in statutory reporting, knowledge of current accounting and regulatory practices and financial systems accounting
• Experience in banking and financial service industry strongly preferred
