It is a very exciting time at The Kids Research Institute Australia as we continue to evolve from what began in the 1980's as a vision to create a world-class child health research hub. We have recently changed our name from the Telethon Kids Institute, but we continue to achieve our vision of happy, healthy kids!
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team at Telethon Kids Institute has an opening available for a System Support Engineer to join this high-performing team that provides end-to-end support to over 1000 users. This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of systems and technologies by providing IT support to all staff, resolving technical issues, and providing solutions that will help enable research.
This position will see you leverage your strong interpersonal skills and technical capabilities to enable and empower researchers as key users of IT. Your activities can range from general IT enquiries such as computing and mobile device issues through to troubleshooting, hard- and software deployment and supporting the team with current project work.
Some of your responsibilities include: Provide face-to-face over-the-counter customer support to Institute staff.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Service Level Agreement (SLA).Create procedures and documentation to support the software and systems environments.Assist with new implementations and architecture design.Support with Asset Management.Conveniently located within the Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands, this position will be offered on a full-time basis for 18 months.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the following:
Previous experience in a similar role working within an Enterprise environment.Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft platforms, including server and desktop.Working knowledge of Cloud platforms including O365 and Azure.Demonstrated skills in Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy.Proven experience supporting VMware and other virtualisation technologies.Experience in desktop level troubleshooting, including hardware, MS Windows, and Apple.Excellent communication skills and a solutions-driven mindset.We are driving inclusion and diversity as part of the way we work and embrace the diverse career and life experiences of our staff.
