The Opportunity System Administrator will be responsible for working closely within the CTO Change Program to assist in the delivery of key elements of the Data Management & Analysis Platform within the department.
This opportunity is being offered as a 12-month contract with the option for extension.
The Role You will be responsible for working collaboratively with department personnel and contractors to deploy infrastructure, operating systems, and applications through Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C) approaches for DMAP solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include: Providing updates on progress of current tasks as requested, including through Git Lab tickets Communicating constructively with colleagues, product owners, internal clients, and managers Understanding client requirements and ensuring all technical work adequately fulfills these requirements Providing knowledge and transferring skills to other team members The Ideal Person To be successful in the role, you will be proficient in Linux administration (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL) and need to have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Proficient in and having demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining Linux systems Understanding and implementing security best practices (e.g., Essential 8, Information Security Manual) Experience using collaboration tools that include git, issue tracking, and wikis (e.g., Git Lab, Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops) Understanding network protocols Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), automation tooling (e.g., Ansible) Virtualization technologies (VMware, v Sphere) Storage hardware technologies (e.g., NAS, JBOD, VSAN, RAID) Backup systems (e.g., VEEAM) Must be a team player and be able to work collaboratively Desirable: Negative Vetting 1 clearance or the ability to obtain one Salary / Rate $120.00/hr - $150.00/hr including super or negotiable 12 months contract with extension options How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
