The Switching Architect ensures seamless connectivity, high availability, and compliance with industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: Payment Switch Design:Analyze business requirements related to payment processing.Design payment switch systems that handle authorization, routing, and settlement.Consider scalability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.Network Infrastructure:Configure and manage network switches (both physical and virtual).Optimize data flow, latency, and throughput.Ensure compatibility with payment protocols (ISO 8583, NDC, etc.).Security and Compliance:Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive payment data.Comply with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and other regulations.Monitor for anomalies and potential fraud.High Availability and Redundancy:Architect solutions for continuous operation, minimizing downtime.Set up redundant switches and failover mechanisms.Conduct regular testing and simulations.Collaboration and Documentation:Work closely with development teams, security experts, and operations staff.Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience (typically 5+ years) designing payment switch solutions.In-depth knowledge of payment protocols, network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and load balancing.Familiarity with switch vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) and virtualization technologies.Full working rights – Must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident Conquest Recruitment Group - Melbourne, VIC Westpac Banking Corporation - Melbourne, VIC
