All the teams work closely together to ensure a quality service is enjoyed by our clients.The frontline teams of DBS Australia (Institutional Banking Group, Treasury & Markets, Project Finance, Global Transaction Services) are supported by dedicated Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk Management Group, Legal & Compliance, and Human Resources teams in Australia.Job PurposeAs a Credit Approver, you will:Approve/support/review the transactions submitted by the Relationship Managers ('RMs') of Australia Branch responsible for the counterparty Risk Ratings.Proactively manage the Credit Portfolio of Australia Branch including setting Industry and Single Borrower Group concentration thresholds.Work with RMs to meet the Branch's KPIs such as no overdue Annual Reviews and proactive credit management of Borrowers to ensure "no surprises."Assist the Chief Risk Officer, Australia with CPS 220 on the Annual and Triennial Review requirements, Annual Risk Management Declaration, as well as ensuring that all Credit Risk Policies are updated to reflect local regulatory and market requirements.Key AccountabilitiesDeliver quality credit decisions/recommendations based on sound judgement, by adopting a systematic and consistent approach in line with the Bank's credit policies and guidelines on a timely basis.Meet Risk Controls and Compliance goals including timely turnaround of credit decisions, satisfactory Internal Audit/External Review outcomes.Proactively manage the overall credit risk portfolio of Australia Branch.Active participation in all credit-related initiatives within RMG and Australia Branch.Actively work with Australia IBG Team Head to formulate an appropriate credit training program for Relationship Managers to upskill credit risk management and working knowledge of Credit Policies, global and local industry knowledge and emerging trends.Co-ordinate and ensure appropriate responses to the Annual and Triennial CPS 220 Reviews, Risk Management Declaration and review of local Credit Risk Policies.Responsibilities1. As a Credit Approver:Ensure credit approvals/reviews are approved/supported on a timely basis.Work with the Relationship Managers in structuring complex transactions to manage/minimise risk profile of the transaction.Screen marginal credits through early involvement to reduce unproductive efforts by Relationship Managers to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.Visit existing and potential clients, and site visits together with Relationship Managers.Pro-actively identify and recommend remedial/defensive actions for Borrowers which display potential concerns or weakness.Manage working relationships across the Branch to facilitate successful execution of transactions.Assess New Product Approvals to ensure that Credit risks and processes are appropriately identified and addressed prior to the rollout of the new product.Actively work with Australia IBG Team Head to formulate an appropriate credit training program coach for Relationship Managers.Provide feedback on Credit Policies to respective Head Office teams, and communicate Group and Local Credit Policies changes as well as seeking feedback from IBG Australia for any proposed changes.Review new Credit-related regulatory requirements and assessing the impact on the Branch including the rollout of new workstreams and Australia Policy addendum to ensure that the Credit-related regulatory requirements are met.2. Additional Duties:Assist Chief Risk Officer, Australia in discharging the obligations under CPS 220 for the Annual and Triennial Reviews, Annual Risk Management declaration and update of Credit Risk Policies.RequirementsUniversity degree with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business preferred.15 or more years of experience in Banking at least 10 of which should be in a Credit function exercising delegated credit authority.Knowledge of the Australia market, Industry sectors and product are critical.Apply now
