Job DescriptionThe Opportunity The position is open for candidates located in either Perth or Melbourne.
The Sustainability Strategy Manager will lead and embed an organisation-wide sustainability strategy across Housing Choices Australia, aligning organisational activities with global sustainability frameworks such as, but not limited to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and across Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The Sustainability Strategy Manager will develop, implement, and manage initiatives that drive measurable social, environmental, and economic impact, advancing sustainability at both strategic and operational levels.
What you'll do Develop, implement, and continuously improve an organisational national Sustainability Framework that aligns with global sustainability frameworks, including policy, strategy, procedures, and guidelines, to establish best practices organisation-wide.Integrate sustainability into core business functions and decision-making processes, ensuring that social, environmental, and economic considerations are embedded across all levels of the organisation, including alignment on existing strategies with organisation sustainability goals.Lead the development of performance tracking systems to monitor progress in sustainability goals, setting clear KPIs and metrics that reflect the organisation's commitment to holistic, responsible operations.Manage impact reporting by measuring and analysing sustainability performance across business units, producing comprehensive reports that communicate HCA's social, environmental, and economic impact to stakeholders.Oversee external reporting on sustainability, working with communications to publish annual reports, white papers, and case studies highlighting HCA's progress and achievements in sustainable development.Continuously improve sustainability initiatives by conducting regular reviews and making data-driven recommendations for strategic adjustments.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You: Relevant tertiary qualification in business, strategy, management, sustainability, community housing, property development or equivalent experienceA strong and up-to-date understanding of sustainability within the property sectorStrong understanding of sustainability principles and frameworks, with an emphasis on embedding these into strategic and operational decision-makingCapacity to support change and innovation and deliver creative and leading practice solutionsProven experience and successful track record in a comparable role or discipline(s) in the public/community, private housing sector or transferable sectorExperience developing and managing performance tracking and impact reporting systems for sustainability initiativesExperience in preparing management, business and regulatory required reports.What we offer in return Flexible working arrangementsSalary Packaging for living expenses, meal, and entertainment expensesRecognition programPaid parental leavePlease note that it is a minimum requirement of this position that all appointments are made subject to a satisfactory National Criminal History or Police Check conducted by Housing Choices Australia and the successful post holder to:
