About the role
We manage a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots.
Our portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests.
The Infrastructure & Sustainability team within Property Services drives sustainability initiatives within the City's property portfolio.
The team collaborates with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to implement water and energy efficiency measures, coordinate the net zero framework for City operations, guide project teams to ensure sustainability outcomes are embedded into their project outcomes, and help drive progress toward the City's operational sustainability targets.
As the Sustainability Officer, you'll:

support the Infrastructure & Sustainability team to deliver net zero projects within the City of Sydney's property portfolio
utilise various data sources to identify energy efficiency opportunities, validate asset data records and track sustainability outcomes and payback periods of these opportunities
effectively engage diverse stakeholders to implement energy efficiency improvements and electrification of assets within buildings.

We're looking for someone with:

2-4 years of experience post-qualification in engineering or demonstrated experience in energy efficiency projects, particularly in building systems
a solid understanding of electrification technologies and their application in sustainable building projects
strong problem-solving skills to identify and implement energy efficiency opportunities
excellent teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver successful sustainability outcomes
a passion for driving sustainability initiatives, with a focus on improving energy performance in buildings.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
