We are offering a unique role within a multi-award winning global FMCG business, based right here in WA.
The position plays an important role in ensuring the company is operating sustainably, responsibly and in a way that meets the expectations of our stakeholders.
Responsible for helping to deliver Brownes' environmental, social and governance goals, the Sustainability Officer will act as the primary point of contact for environmental and governance data related queries at Brownes.
Staying up to date with emerging trends and innovation in the ESG reporting space, the ability to think strategically, a keen eye for data integrity, along with a strong sense of environmental stewardship and a passion for sustainability is paramount for this role.
Being a key member of the sustainability committee, it will be important to work with our optimisation and engineering teams, as well as external assurance parties, EPA and local council.
Role Accountabilities will include but not limited to: Assisting the sustainability team by working with operations, engineering and corporate teams to understand data collation methods and gaps.Establishing and maintaining the environmental management system.Collecting environmental and sustainability data and assisting with accurate reporting in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.Managing sustainability data and reporting in current format whilst providing options for improved governance systems.Keeping up to date and advising the business on any emerging trends, best practices, and changes in environmental legislation.Reviewing and advising on carbon data, carbon accounting methods and carbon markets as part of the business decarbonisation strategy.Working with farm base and consultants to assist in mapping scope 3 emissions.Assisting with development of the company's ESG policies.What are we looking for? Someone who has a good understanding of environmental legislation and who has had experience in sustainability and environmental reporting.
Preferably with two plus years' experience undertaking this function within an FMCG company.
It would be essential to hold some Tertiary Qualification – Graduate (Bachelor/Master) in Engineering, Science or Supply Chain Field with a preference for an Environmental Science qualification.
A candidate with a quantitative, data focused approach to problem solving, with excellent skills in MS Office applications.
Prior work with NPI, NGER and WEMP reporting would be advantageous as would experience in project work related to carbon neutrality.
