Overview This role Sustainability Advisor works with the Sustainability Manager to implement MUFG Pension & Market Services' global sustainability strategy and deliver all sustainability-related reporting.
It will also work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive meaningful climate action and meet the company's emissions reduction targets, and to minimise ESG risk across our global operations.
This role requires a commercial and pragmatic approach to sustainability, while having a proactive and hands-on approach.
The role requires an ability to problem solve, build new systems and processes and find practical solutions as the organisation adapts to new mandatory reporting requirements and client expectations.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Strategic Focus  Provide strategy and practical advice regarding the reduction of carbon emissions and environmental impact across the organisation's operations and supply chain.
Develop recommendations for continuous improvement of systems and processes related to ESG risk management and sustainability reporting Operational Management  Prepare MPMS' mandatory and voluntary sustainability reports, including data collection and analysis, as required and directed by the manager.
Ensure all global locations and functions obtain and record sustainability data in the Envizi data platform Gather and analyse relevant data for sustainability reporting, especially in preparation for mandatory climate reporting Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in sustainability reporting, whilst working with key stakeholders.
Prepare data for ESG supply chain analysis, which informs both our modern slavery risk analysis and our Scope 3 emissions calculations Identify a list of highest risk suppliers in relation to modern slavery, and develop a priority list of suppliers to engage with input from businesses Work with supplier relationship owners to request information and conduct checks on suppliers in relation to ESG risks Maintain the Sustainability Response Library, and respond to data requests and client questionnaires as required Assist the Sustainability Manager in developing a roadmap and timeline to meet MPMS proposed emissions reductions targets, including operational efficiency measures and supply chain engagement Assist procurement and facilities managers to switch all possible global locations to renewable energy, in line with emissions reduction targets Engage with facilities managers and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste, and develop an implementation plan Identify highest risk suppliers in relation to carbon emissions, and develop a priority list of suppliers to engage, with input from internal stakeholders Work with supplier relationship owners to gather information and engage with suppliers on setting their own emissions reductions targets People Leadership  Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including internal stakeholders and external vendors, regulators and industry associations/bodies.
Assist and coach global data holders to maintain accurate records in Envizi, as required Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation Governance & Risk  Support sustainability, risk and compliance functions in identifying, assessing and managing global climate and ESG-related risks Comply with risk and compliance training requirements  Ensure adherence to policies, and legal and regulatory requirements The above list of key accountabilities is not an exhaustive list and may change from time-to-time based on business needs.
Experience & Personal Attributes Minimum 5 years in a sustainability role within the professional services or finance industries and relevant tertiary qualifications Demonstrated experience in sustainability reporting, including understanding of global and local reporting frameworks and standards (ISSB/ASRS, GRI, UNGC, Modern Slavery reporting) Experience in carbon accounting and GHG emissions reporting Experience in developing and implementing plans for energy efficiency and waste reduction Sound data management and analytical skills to gather, analyse, and interpret sustainability data Experience using sustainability reporting software, particularly the Envizi data platform, is desirable Experience working with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and find practical solutions to data challenges Strong influencing, relationship building and collaboration skills  Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and prepare reports and presentations
