Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership and direction to our project delivery team in Vanuatu.
The role will be full time and based in Brisbane initially.
As the project progresses, there will be a requirement to fly in and out to Vanuatu to oversee the construction phases and require extended periods of stay in Vanuatu.

The role will require the successful candidate to take on a mentorship and leadership role, providing training, support, and professional development to the local Vanuatu companies that will be engaged to deliver the different phases of the project.
The role will act as the link between our client and our subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered on schedule and to budget, ultimately achieving our customers' expectations.

Day to day you will be responsible for:
Management of design engineers including concept, design drawings, tender specifications and sign off internally and with other stakeholders Tendering the works out in packages and undertaking value for money assessments Management of Project Schedule and budget Managing all resources including subcontractors, plant, suppliers and materials in both Australia and Vanuatu Supporting and mentoring local Vanuatu subcontracting companies in the ways of professional development, safety compliance, and industry best practices Establishing, managing and developing strong relationships with customers and clients Ensuring commitment to zero harm, health and safety, and environmental compliance Checking the quality of works on site and reporting any issues and working with the subcontractors to deliver works on time and on budget.
This is a key role and you will need:
The ability to drive safety and quality works through operational excellence on time and to budget High level of emotional intelligence to work with and build strong relationships with employees, clients, subcontractors, stakeholders and walk the talk Demonstrated history in developing a culture of Zero Harm Extensive experience in a similar role within the building and construction industry Hands-on experience gained within a contractor environment in similar industries Bid Management experience with the ability to prepare tenders for market including full compliance of tender documentation with client requirements A strong financial and commercial acumen is also a must, and will assist you in the accurate preparation of cost plans, as well as in identifying new project opportunities and ensuring a high success rate of team bids Advanced computer literacy including Excel and ideally estimating software Ability to collaborate as part of a high-performing team Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy of work Possess a strong work ethic, good organisational skills and can meet strict deadlines This Position will require successful candidates to undergo a Medical Assessment as well as Police and National Security Checks.
