About the roleWe are currently seeking a Mine Surveyor to join our high-performing team at our QCoal Northern Hub project; situated about 100km South-West of Bowen in the friendly lifestyle location of the beautiful Whitsunday Coast of Queensland and only a few minutes from the township of Collinsville.Working an 8/6 roster and reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your duties will include: Provide survey support and assist Technical Services Team in the planning processEnsure survey data is recorded and stored as per project management plansComply with the statutory and safety requirements for survey activities on siteConduct daily survey tasks and weekly mine compliance reportingComplete on-site RPAS drone surveys/scans/photos/incident reportingConduct EOM pickups and volume calculationsProvide EOM reconciliationDevelop positive relationships with Technical Services Teams and the Client Representatives About you Experience in a Mine Surveying environmentExperience working at a large-scale open cut mining operationTertiary qualification in surveying or equivalentUnderstanding of mining principles, design concepts and operations (particularly their relation to survey activities)Proficient in relevant survey software including Maptek Vulcan & Point StudioProficient in photogrammetry software and techniquesRPAS certifiedAn ability to link the technical outcomes to financial resultsKnowledge of mine operation regulatory and legislative requirements What Thiess can do for you 8/6 lifestyle rosterSite AllowanceEligible for Annual Remuneration Review and Discretionary Bonus'Thiess' commitment to ongoing training & development Full accommodation facilities provided in share house or campIndividual flexibility travel arrangements on offer - (Live Local, FIFO (Brisbane) or DIDO)Regional housing allowance for local residents (if applicable)Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products
