About our opportunityAs a member of our Survey team, you'll be completing engineering and/or cadastral surveys, including geodetic, engineering, topographic, hydrographic and asset data collection, and researching, collecting, manipulating and setting out the required data for the management of Council assets. Your day to day activities will include: Operating specialised surveying instruments including GPS/GNSS, Total Station and Automatic LevelAccurate traverse surveys, and interpretation and analysis of survey data and calculationsUsing specialised surveying CAD software applicationsAdministration duties and engaging proactively with key stakeholders Contributing to a positive team environment to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture The Survey team work from home and on site, and you're welcome to work in the Strathpine office with the broader Asset Management team.About youWe are keen to see applications from experienced Senior Survey Technicians (Level 4) interested in supporting the development of team members, as well as applications from Survey Technicians (Level 3) who are looking to develop their skills further. Current students who are studying a qualification in this field/industry are also encouraged to apply. Bring your: Experience of geodetic, engineering, topographic, hydrographic, asset data collection and/or cadastral surveysKnowledge and application of relevant legislation and statutory requirementsProficiency in the use of survey equipment, instruments and specialised survey CAD systemsDemonstrated mathematical skills to undertake moderately complex data calculations (Senior Survey Technician Level 4)Time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlinesPeople and relationship management skills to work in a positive team environment communicating and engaging effectively at all levelsAssociate Degree or Degree in Spatial Science Technology (Surveying), or equivalent or demonstrated relevant experienceRegistration with the Surveyors Board of QLD (desirable if performing Cadastral survey activities)Construction Induction Card competency Current C class driver's licence required.
