Surveying (Construction) Full time John Holland has recently been announced as the preferred partner to deliver the Inland Rail, Illabo to Stockinbingal (I2S) works in NSW and we are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) to be part of this team.
About Inland RailInland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
This 1,600km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network - better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai.
It will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
What is needed?We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Survey Managers willing to explore a new opportunity in regional NSW.
You will ensure the provision of comprehensive surveying services to the project, for all phases from early planning, to design and completion.
You will manage the survey contractors and provide support in meeting the contractual requirements of the Project.
Responsibilities of the role include: Manage and coordinate survey contractors to complete surveys and investigations of land surfacesManagement of structure, plans, specifications, standards and implications for project accountabilitiesUtilise survey techniques and modern equipment when appropriate to ensure the tasks are completed in the most cost-effective wayInterpret project and technical documentation and monitor compliance with specificationsLead, manage and monitor multiple survey contractors at any one timeLiaise with engineers and supervisors to ensure there is sufficient survey support planned for and allocatedManage survey contractors to ensure survey resources are utilised efficiently across the various projectsMonitoring progress and quality of the survey contractor's worksProvide instruction where requiredAct as an advisor to land surveying team regarding tasks and operationsProvide support to engineers to forecast survey costs for each projectProvide input into the development phase of upcoming projects.Work with the project teams to ensure documentation for PC is captured and submitted within the required time frames.
This includes all required as-built and cadastral informationCheck and maintain all legal requirements relating to surveying on the project.
Have knowledge and understanding of legislation, systems, procedures and technology associated with the project surveyingTo be successful in this role, you will have: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Spatial Science or 10+ years surveying experienceQualifications in Construction Management or Quality Assurance10 years surveying experience with a minimum of 3 years in construction surveyingExperience in cadastral surveying is preferred but not essentialExperience in technical management roles on significant projectsMulti-discipline project experience desirable in Building, Construction, Quality Assurance, DesignAbout You: Willing to FIFO/DIDO to remote locations in NSWBe open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projectsOr, willing to relocate yourself within an hour's commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.Your success is reflected in ours, so we're committed to being an employer of choice.
