The

Survey Manager

for Queensland is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all survey-related activities within the region.
This role involves managing a team of surveyors, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of projects, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key responsibilities include resource planning, team leadership, operational efficiency, and the implementation of best practices in survey methodology.

This position also requires a strong focus on staff development, client relationship management, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in survey operations, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment in Queensland.
They will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving successful project outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

In this role your days will include:

Overseeing the daily activities of survey teams, providing guidance, and addressing any issues that arise.Monitoring progress of projects, and ensuring that deadlines are met.Communicating with clients to understand their requirements.Conducting site visits to oversee survey work, ensure accuracy, and troubleshoot any on-site issues.Ensuring that all survey operations adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting safety briefings, and enforcing safety protocols.Providing ongoing training and support to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.Monitoring project budgets, controlling costs, and reporting on financial performance.Developing plans for upcoming projects, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback on survey operations.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Effectively lead and motivate a team of surveyors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Streamline survey processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet deadlines consistently.Demonstrate a strong understanding of surveying principles, technology, and best practices relevant to the region.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, through execution and delivery.Ensure all survey operations adhere to Queensland's regulatory standards and industry guidelines.Quickly identify and resolve issues that arise during survey operations, minimizing impact on project timelines.Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.Stay agile and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, responding to changes and challenges with innovative solutions.Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance overall survey operations.Well-developed business acumen and financial management skills.
Manage budgets effectively, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints, setting and maintaining yearly budgets for the department.Prioritize safety in all operations, ensuring a safe working environment for the team and compliance with health and safety regulations.Proficiency in using a wide range of survey equipment and software.Tertiary qualifications are an advantage.Experience in a similar role is preferred.Current Driver's License.
