Job Opportunity: Surveillance Officer (4-Month Initial Contract)

Role Overview: This council is seeking a dedicated and technically savvy Surveillance Officer.
This role is primarily onsite and involves inspecting council drainage and roads, working autonomously, and utilising strong written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of council-managed drainage systems and roadways to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
Identify any issues or areas needing maintenance or repair.
Manage your tasks independently, making decisions and taking initiative without constant supervision.
This includes planning your daily activities and prioritising tasks effectively.
Develop strong working relationships with contractors and other stakeholders.
This involves clear communication, negotiation, and collaboration to ensure projects are completed to the council's standards.
Utilise project management skills to oversee and coordinate various infrastructure projects.
This includes setting timelines, managing resources, and ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.
Accurately read and understand civil engineering plans and drawings.
Apply this knowledge to assess project requirements and ensure compliance with design specifications.
Efficiently use council systems, including email and corporate document management systems, to manage communications and documentation.
This ensures all records are kept up-to-date and accessible.
