Central Adelaide Local Health Network The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woodville Salary  ASO-2  $29.57 - $31.81 per hour + 25% casual leave loading  Casual About the Role We are looking for a highly organised and adaptable Casual Relieving Administrative Officer to join our dynamic Surgical Directorate team.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of clerical, reception, ward clerk, and secretarial functions by providing relief during annual leave, long service leave, and other unexpected absences.
Reporting to the Business Consultant, Surgical Directorate, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks of clerical staff, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time, and handling complex administrative issues as they arise.
As a central point of support, you will work collaboratively with hospital staff to assess priorities and allocate workloads efficiently.
You'll offer expert guidance to less experienced team members, ensuring high standards of service and continuous improvement.
This role requires someone with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as you will be coordinating between departments to meet the evolving needs of the Surgical Directorate while maintaining a positive, team-focused environment.

About You We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of experience, initiative, and technical ability to support our surgical administrative team.
Key qualities include: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
Proficiency in office software, audio typing, and electronic patient systems.
Ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and handle urgent, high-pressure situations.
Previous administrative experience in a health setting, with a solid understanding of medical terminology and confidentiality.
