About us The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.
RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
About the role You will effectively coordinate programs, activities and projects which support Specialist International Medical Graduates on their pathway to obtaining Fellowship of RACS.
Program Development & Coordination Support the SIMG Department in effectively developing, piloting and coordinating programs, workshops and events which support Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMG) on their pathway to Fellowship of RACS. Develop and implement proposals and plans in line with organisational objectives and timelines to ensure successful planning, development, implementation and monitoring of programs, workshops and events. Assist the Manager to develop and implement the strategic plan for the Department. Assist the team process applications for SIMGs seeking Fellowship of RACS. Program Review Manage data for reporting purposes and prepare reports for stakeholders as required (including but not limited to the Specialist International Medical Graduate Committee and the RACS Executive Leadership Team). Manage evaluation of programs for review purposes. Project Management Lead the development, implementation and review of SIMG projects in line with strategic objectives and timelines. Prepare submissions and proposals as required. Skills and Experience Completion of Degree in business administration, event management or education or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in coordination of educational events and assessments including logistics, content material, promotion and budget management. Experience in project management. High level customer service (internal and external relationships). Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills in order to liaise with multi-disciplinary and multi-culturally diverse customers. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in synthesising complex information and an ability to prepare reports and briefs. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment. Leadership/management experience in a team-oriented workplace. High attention to detail with the ability to think laterally. High-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and perform tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to manage the logistics of multiple events simultaneously. Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams. Computer literacy in other packages such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and databases. This position is full time until December 2025.
