Cancer pushes them back into the nest, makes them grow up too fast and weighs them down with worries they are not supposed to have yet. Canteen is a game changer.Canteen is a national support organisation for 12 to 25-year-olds who cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they have been diagnosed themselves, we also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams. Working for Canteen is a chance to support young people rebuilding the foundations that crumbled beneath them when cancer turned their world upside down.About our benefitsFlexible work arrangements - inclusive of location of the role and WFH flexibility.A base salary of $66,000, plus superannuation, and access to a generous not-for-profit salary packaging program (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).5 weeks annual leave + pay during annual office closure.Professional development and career growth opportunities.Work for Australia's most highly regarded not-for-profit organisation and be rewarded by working in an environment where you can have the opportunity to make a real difference to individuals or families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.About our roleYour role as Customer Service Officer, or Supporter Care Officer as we like to name the position at Canteen, will be based in a call centre fundraising environment where you will be tasked with maintaining high quality relationships with Canteen's donors via inbound and outbound phone, email, SMS & web chat streams.You will be responsible for the provision of high levels of customer service and the ability to identify retention and fundraising opportunities of donors. Through inbound and outbound calls and email handling across all fundraising portfolios, complaint handling, donation processing and accurate updating of donors information in Canteen's system(s), you'll be at the heart of what we do.This is a fast-paced role connecting to new and existing Canteen donors, with the added advantages of working in a great team environment while also having the opportunity to play a pivotal role in Canteen's journey to support young people and their families whose lives have been impacted by cancer.About YouSuperior customer service and retention skills.Experience in an inbound/outbound call centre (highly desirable).Resilient nature and comfortable asking supporters for donations.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.High attention to detail with strong data entry abilities.Team player with the ability to build internal and external relationships with ease.Competent in MS Office and experience with Salesforce or similar databases.If you're passionate about what you do and are ready to make a difference, apply now.
