Job Overview Join our team in strengthening the capacity of parents to guide their children's early learning. This role offers a chance to make a difference in the lives of children and their families through the power of play. Utilise your existing skills as you learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities As part of your new role, you will be responsible for:
Assisting in programming and facilitating weekly playgroups and in-home coaching in different locations around Ballarat. Working with eligible families within our community as part of the Smalltalk program, which is an evidence-based model designed to teach and guide families with effective yet simple strategies to improve parenting confidence and build parenting capacity. Further training and qualifications in this program will be provided for the successful applicant.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to hold relevant qualifications such as Early Childhood, Family Support, Social Work, or similar, as detailed in the Supported Playgroup Policy and Funding Guidelines. You will also need a current driver's licence, as this role involves regular local travel.
Preferred experience includes:
Ability to deliver programs to a diverse demographic, including children and families. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with children, their families, communities, and other stakeholders involved in the care of the child.
