Position: Disability Support Worker We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of individuals with complex disabilities, providing specialised care and support to ensure their well-being and promote their independence.
Role Overview: Employment Type: Casual, with potential for permanent part-time for the right candidate.
Salary: Industry-leading pay rates from $41.76 base to $75.17 on weekends.
Availability: Full and flexible availability to work across a flexible roster, including sleepovers, active night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities: Support and assist individuals with disabilities in their living environment.
Provide quality in-home, community access, and/or centre-based care and support.
Facilitate integration and participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
Carry out designated tasks and activities aimed at meeting participants' goals.
Experience or willingness to undertake training in hoist transfers and assist with manual handling.
Willingness to complete personal care (including showering and grooming) and domestic assistance such as cooking, cleaning, and supporting our participants' environments.
Flexibility with working hours to support participants.
Requirements: Mandatory: Blue Card for working with children.
NDIS Worker Screening or Yellow Card - Disability.
Current Queensland driver's license.
Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent) & CPR.
Preferred: Certificate III in Disability or Community Services is highly regarded, but not compulsory.
Experience in the disability sector is valued, and those willing to start or complete Certificate III are encouraged to apply.
Experience around bowel health and meal management will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of person-centred practice and emphasis on providing high quality of care.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective team communication.
Ability to prioritize workload and respond to emergencies.
Positive attitude and ability to multi-task.
