A permanent Support Services (Laboratory Aide) position is currently available within the Specimen Reception and Data Entry Department of DHM Pathology at our Dubbo laboratory. The position being offered is full time but a part time position would be considered. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:
Ensure all criteria for acceptance of specimens in SRA is met per current collection procedures manual. Maintain work area to accepted standards of work health and safety and maintenance of all equipment in SRA Under supervision of Senior staff, to perform designated tasks, at the appropriate level of responsibility, within the various departments of the pathology laboratory. To conduct yourself in a professional and honest manner at all times. To be a helpful member of our team and generally offer assistance within the scope of your training and capabilities. We are proud to say we have a learning and supportive environment therefore prior experience is not required. Full training will be provided . We are looking for the following:
Is open to working full time hours rostered Monday to Friday, between 8:30am to 6pm and participation in the Saturday morning roster. The position requires a person willing to multi-skill in numerous areas, including unpacking, coding and preparation of pathology specimens for testing, data entry and results enquiries. Excellent typing skills are essential. A background in pathology laboratory services and medical terminology is preferred but not essential. A hard-working, motivated and reliable individual with a strong work ethic. Strong attention to detail with good time management skills and excellent communication skills.
