North East Metropolitan Language Development Centre (NEMLDC) are seeking to establish a pool of Speech and Language Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.Qualified Speech Pathologists and/or Teachers may apply.NEMLDC provides a state-wide service for students with speech and language difficulties.
It includes a direct service for students (K – 2) enrolled in the Language Development Centre and an Outreach Service.
The Outreach Service provides support to mainstream schools in the North Metropolitan Region and the Wheatbelt.

They will be responsible for providing consultancy and professional learning to regional and school communities in the area of oral language foundations and literacy development, and supporting policy and procedures for the identification, referral, and educational planning for students with speech and language needs.The Support Officer - Speech and Language should work effectively in a team environment and should be able to collaborate with schools, internal and external service providers regarding language/literacy programs and service provision.
