The Hunter Area Command provides support to our five District Offices with key specialist functions of People & Business, Community Risk and Capability.The Support Officer provides a key opportunity for the successful candidate to gain key experience and exposure to a wide range of activities within the NSW RFS.
The role provides a range of support services in both an administrative and operational capacity within the Area Command.
Supporting the Capability team by responding to enquiries, maintaining records and relevant internal systems, adherence to policy in purchasing and inventory, and delivering a high standard of customer service to our customers in order to support our teams to protect the community.Balancing multiple tasks with competing demands whilst supporting the Capability team's projects and programs will be a key challenge for this role.To thrive in this role, you will:Provide high levels of customer service to internal and external customers and communicate effectively across all levelsPossess an understanding of volunteer and community engagementShow initiative, multi-task and prioritise workloadsTake initiative and support the team to achieve business goalsBe proficient in technology, in particular Microsoft Office SuiteAdapt to changing situations and respond quicklyTo be considered for this opportunity, you must submit your application online via I Work for NSW, and attach:A cover letter in PDF format, addressing how you meet the essential requirements of the role, outlining your suitability and why you are interested in this opportunity (maximum 2 pages);A resume in PDF format, including two current/recent professional referees (please include email address and contact number)Respond to two targeted questions within the online application process (maximum 500 words each): Describe how you use different software in your workplace.
