Our Federal Government client is seeking an Support Officer Certification - Seafarerfor an immediate start for an assignment until 30 June 2025 with a possible extension.
Our client is responsible for the maritime safety of international shipping and domestic commercial vessels, protection of the marine environment from ship-sourced pollution, and search and rescue nationally.
Position: APS3 Support Officer Contract Length: ASAP start to 30th of June 2025 with a potential extension Locations: Coffs Harbour Reporting to the Certification Officer - Seafarer, the Support Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support and first level of governance associated with the issue of certification to seafarers in accordance with Marine Order 505.
Key objectives of the role: Enter data into the nominated customer records management system for near coastal domestic applications.
Assess and process applications leading to the issue of near coastal certificates of competency.
Maintain an understanding and knowledge of relevant Marine Orders, webpages, Seafarer Certification Service procedures.
Provide information and advice, both verbally and in writing, to seafarers and stakeholders who are seeking near coastal certificate of competency.
Maintain records in accordance with policy Propose, plan and execute ideas for continuous improvement and change management.
Assist the staff in other regional offices as required.
Attend and participate in staff and team meetings, actively contributing to continuous improvement and change.
Roles & Responsibilities: Ability to use Microsoft suite of office applications spefically Microsof Dynamics Working knowledge of computerised records management systems (preferably Content Manager) Proven experience within an administrative support function.
Strong numerical, verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated aptitude for communicating information to a wide audience.
Demonstrated ability to interpret, analyse and communicate evidence-based conclusions.
