The Support Officer, Parole Board Secretariat is required to provide administrative support to their supervisor and other staff and maintain administrative processes within the Parole Board Queensland Secretariat (the Secretariat) to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided to the Board.
Communication skills as demonstrated through the ability to listen, understand and speak clearly to a wide range of audiences. Written skills with the ability to summarise information and data;Competence in maintaining an accountable recording system;Ability to apply and understand departmental policies and procedures;Ability to use judgment and discretion with confidential information;Planning & Organising abilities to ensure tasks are completed within the required deadlines and in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures;Information technology skills at a competent level with the willingness to learn new IT skills and use internal information management databases as well as Microsoft Office software;Ability to acquire knowledge of relevant acts and regulations;Decision making and reasoning involve gathering information, evaluating a variety of solutions, and selecting the best option, working ethically, working under pressure and demonstrating resilience;Teamwork skills with the ability to work without supervision and as part of the broader team. In addition, demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to team results;Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service.Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as criminal justice would be highly desirable.
